WhitePaper: Expand Your Serial COMs with Optical Fiber

Serial devices are used ar ound the world as integral components of industri al automation systems. This is due in part to the fact that RS-232/422/ 485 interfaces are easy to set up and economical to use. Fo r example, the 2-wire RS-485 interface can be used to connect as many as 32 serial devices to a single half-duplex line. Sinc e the transmission distance can be up to 1200 meters, RS-485 is suitable for many factory applications. If more devices or greater distances are required, RS-485 repeaters can be used to extend the 1200 meter limit or increase the number of devi ces connected to the system.

WhitePaper: Ultra-low-power pioneers: TI slashes total MCU power by 50 percent with new “Wolverine” MCU platform

With the “Wolverine” MCU platform, code named for its aggressive power-saving technology, TI has created the next generation of the MSP430 architecture. This new platform achieves new levels of ultra-low-power by cutting the power and energy consumption of MCUs by more than half. TI achieves the “Wolverine” platform’s impressive power gains through its new 130-nm ultra-low-leakage (ULL) process technology, integrated low-power non-volatile memory and enhanced MSP430 DNA with advanced power management and precision low-power analog. Learn More.

Whitepaper: Application Note 1821 CPRI Repeater System

This application note implements the Common Public Radio Interface (CPRI) for Remote Radio Heads (RRHs). The designer can use this application note for developing CPRI-based repeater systems in point-to-point or multi-hop configurations.
