The ADIY pH sensor module can precisely measure the potential of hydrogen (pH) of any liquid.
Rajguru Electronics has released the ADIY pH sensor module, a sensor for measuring the potential of hydrogen (pH) in any liquid. The low-cost sensor can precisely measure the hydrogen-ion activity in water-based solutions. It offers better accuracy than pH Indicator solutions and litmus tests. The sensor can easily be integrated with Raspberry Pi and Arduino, making it suitable for both the maker community which relies on the low-cost solution and for using it in applications where precision is essential. It has a measuring range from 0-14 Ph and offers a resolution of ±0.15PH at standard temperature and pressure (STP).
pH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of a solution. It is a logarithmic scale that ranges from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. A solution with a pH less than 7 is considered acidic, while a solution with a pH greater than 7 is considered basic or alkaline. The pH of a solution can affect the behaviour of chemicals and organisms in that solution and is used in various applications, including biology, chemistry, environmental science, and food science. The pH of a solution can be determined using a pH meter or a pH indicator solution.
The module utilises Hydrogen-ion activity also known as the “proton activity” for measuring pH of the liquid. This kit’s drive board works with 9V systems, making it compatible with many MCUs including the Arduino and Raspberry Pi. The pH sensor can be used in a variety of pH measurements with fast response and excellent thermal stability. It has good reproducibility and can eliminate basic alkali errors. In the 0pH to 14pH range, the output voltage is linear. The ADIY pH sensor module is suitable for use in applications where acidity and alkalinity testing is required, such as in the chemical businesses, pharmaceutical industry, dye industry, and scientific research to name a few.
