The design incorporates the MCP3909 16-bit ADCs for precise analog conversion, while the calculations are performed by a PIC18F2520 Flash MCU. The reference design includes the PIC18F4550 USB Interface Module, enabling meter evaluation and calibration using the “3-Phase Energy Meter Software” on Windows XP or Windows 2000. The module also features an LCD for additional energy meter firmware design and evaluation.
