These additions create the industry’s most extensive portfolio of PXI and PXIe digital I/O modules, ideal for automated test systems, acquiring signals from digital sensors, and driving industrial devices.

Pickering Interfaces has unveiled four new industrial digital I/O families for PXI- and LXI-based systems. These new families enhance the company’s industrial digital input and output modules, offering higher density, expanded voltage and current ranges, and programmable logic levels in both PXI and PXIe form factors. With these additions, Pickering now boasts the industry’s most extensive portfolio of PXI and PXIe digital I/O modules.

Digital input and output modules play a crucial role in automated test systems. They facilitate the operation of external devices and interfacing with external logic. These modules are ideal for acquiring signals from digital sensors, communicating with industrial devices like PLCs, and driving relays, solenoids, and lamps.

The four new product families include:

  • High-Density Digital Output Modules : Expanding the existing 40-412 PXI range, this family offers up to 64 output channels with a maximum output voltage range of 50V and 0.5A driving capability.
  • High-Density Digital Input Module with Dual Programmable Thresholds : This family features digital input modules with high channel counts and dual programmable thresholds per bank, allowing for the detection of multiple voltage levels across the module.
  • Semi-Dynamic Digital I/O Module : Offering 16 to 64 I/O channels with up to 60V range and 300mA current output capability, this family provides I/O direction selection and semi-dynamic 8-bit pattern acquisition and generation using on-board memory.
  • Relay Driver Module: An update to the existing model 40-411, this family includes PXIe options and offers up to 64 low-side outputs with external 60V, 1A relay driving capability.

These modules include built-in protection systems such as over-current detection and thermal overload, ensuring reliable operation. The front panel uses a 78-pin D-type connector or a 160-pin DIN 41612 connector, supported by various accessories. All standard products come with a three-year warranty and long-term product support, reinforcing the company’s commitment to quality and reliability.

Paul Bovingdon, Pickering’s Technical Engineering Manager, stated, “At Pickering Interfaces, we’re committed to providing the largest and most capable catalog of industrial digital I/O products in the industry. These new modules reflect our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers.”
