Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has launched a new series of AEC-Q200 qualified thin film chip resistors designed for high-frequency performance up to 70 GHz, catering to automotive, space, avionics, telecom, and military applications. These resistors are housed in the compact 02016 case size and are part of the Vishay Sfernice CHA series, available in resistance values ranging from 10 Ω to 500 Ω.
These devices feature very low internal reactance and behave almost like pure resistors across their broad frequency range, maintaining a nearly flat Z/R curve up to 70 GHz. They consistently demonstrate high-frequency stability, even after rigorous AEC-Q200 testing—evidenced by their ΔR and Z/R measurements—ensuring reliable performance in extreme conditions.
Particularly well-suited for automotive ADAS, LIDAR, connectivity, and 4D radar systems; LEO satellite and space communication systems; military guidance and telemetry systems; drones; and RF antennas, these resistors offer a voltage limit of 30 V, a rated power of 30 mW at +70 °C, and a temperature coefficient of ± 100 ppm/°C, with an option for ± 50 ppm/°C upon request. To facilitate quicker development cycles and reduce costs, Vishay provides S-parameter data, 3D models for Ansys HFSS, Modelithics Microwave Global Models, and design kits. The resistors are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and Vishay Green, available in tape and reel packaging.
