The team are looking for an adaptable, enthusiastic, and reliable individual to join our WLAN protocol design team. The team will work closely in the upper and lower data link layer of ICP/IP stack in the communication engineering. The team plays a pivotal role in the developing complex protocol features for WLAN. Working within our team provides a unique opportunity to work across the engineering disciplines from high level software to low-level hardware. This position reports to the Director, Hardware Engineering.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties:
- Design and develop firmware for IEEE 802.11 standards data link layerÂ
- Firmware side support for pre-silicon and post-silicon design bring-upÂ
- Analyze and support bug fixes during final stages of program across SW and RTL teamsÂ
- Development of debug infrastructureÂ
- Working with colleagues to optimize solutionsÂ
Competencies:
- Familiar with Wi-Fi specification data link layer
- Hands-on in protocol development in IEEE 802.11ac/ax/be amendments.
- Basic understanding of hardware and familiarity with Wi-Fi sniffer tools, analysis of logs, usage of embedded debuggers
- Debugging and analytical abilities
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Able to solve routine problems through practical use of technology
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong team player with the ability to work within a diverse team
Qualifications (Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering Computer Science Engineering or related field or equivalentÂ
- 2+ years’ experience in a relevant engineering roleÂ
- Proficient in C programming skills Â
- Basic experience developing WLAN (IEEE 802.11) specification link layerÂ
- Familiar with system test, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of wireless productÂ
- Some experience with ASIC emulators is a plus and Python scripting is a bonusÂ
- No travel requiredÂ
