Ultrafast Dual 5A Low-Side MOSFET And IGBT Gate Drivers

The expansion of the driver series covers a wide range of uses in industries, building automation systems, data centers, and renewable energy projects.

Littelfuse has introduced two new dual 5-amp low-side MOSFET gate drivers, the IX4341 and IX4342, expanding its IX434x gate driver series. These drivers are designed for efficiently driving MOSFETs in a variety of applications. The series now includes dual non-inverting, dual inverting, and mixed inverting/non-inverting input configurations, providing a broad range of options for designers.The key features include:

  • 1.5A to 30A Peak Source/Sink Drive Current
  • -40°C to +125°C Extended Operating Temperature Range
  • Logic Input Withstands Negative Swing to -5V
  • Low 10µA Supply Current
  • Low Output Impedance

The drivers feature short propagation delays of 16 nanoseconds and fast rise and fall times of 7 nanoseconds, making them suitable for high-frequency applications. For applications requiring higher current, the channels of the IX4340 and IX4341 devices can be paralleled to form a single 10-amp driver, offering additional flexibility. These gate drivers support TTL and CMOS logic inputs, ensuring compatibility with most controllers. Each output includes an independent ENABLE function and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) circuitry to prevent operation under insufficient supply voltage conditions, ensuring that external power devices are safely turned off if needed.

The gate drivers are designed for a wide range of industrial applications, including switch-mode power supplies, DC-DC converters, motor controllers, and power converters. They are also suitable for various industries such as general industrial equipment, electrical appliances, data centers, building solutions, energy storage, and renewable energy systems. The devices are available in several package options, including standard 8-pin SOIC, thermally enhanced 8-pin SOIC, and 3×3 mm² MSOP packages, giving customers multiple choices to meet their design requirements.

These low-side gate drivers offer high integration and compatibility with various logic inputs, making them ideal for optimizing performance and protection in power electronics. They are also designed as drop-in replacements for similar products, providing industry-standard alternatives. They are available in tube and tape-and-reel formats through the company’s authorized distributors worldwide.
