Pulsonix has released Version 13.0, introducing enhanced features aimed at improving PCB design processes, including better integration with MCAD through a new IDX collaboration interface.

The latest version of PCB introduced by Pulsonix focuses on streamlining the ECAD/MCAD design interaction

The latest version of PCB (printed circuit board) introduced by Pulsonix focuses on streamlining the ECAD/MCAD (electrical/ mechanical computer aided design) design interaction, allowing seamless data exchange. The IDX (Internet data exchange) collaboration interface enables incremental design updates, avoiding large transfers with every change. Each modification is trackable, giving designers the flexibility to accept or reject updates, thus enhancing efficiency in the PCB design workflow.

“ECAD/MCAD design process improves significantly, and this results in impressive productivity gains,” said Bob Williams, Marketing Director, Pulsonix. Latest version 13.0 not only strengthens collaboration between design tools but also introduces notable routing and visualization improvements, ensuring users experience significant gains in both functionality and ease of use. The release primarily targets PCB designers, engineers in the electronics industry, and professionals involved in complex product development, where streamlined workflows and precise design controls are critical to success.

The version 13.0 also sees major improvements in 3D visualization. The enhanced 3D engine now incorporates photo-realistic rendering, allowing designers to visualize their boards more accurately. With ray and path tracing algorithms, designs are rendered with greater precision. Additionally, flexi-rigid board designs benefit from enhanced parameter control, ensuring neutral axis values remain accurate when materials bend.

Impedance-controlled routing is another standout feature in this release. Company now dynamically calculates track width based on impedance requirements, automatically adjusting during manual track routing. This new capability, managed within the constraint manager, ensures greater design accuracy and reduces time spent on manual adjustments.

The Pulsonix vault has also been updated with new features, such as improved item permissions, audit trail functions, and MCAD model detachment. These refinements further simplify the design process and increase usability, particularly for engineers handling large projects.

“This significant update delivers a broad range of enhancements and new features throughout the product, enabling engineers to craft designs effortlessly,” added Williams. The version 13.0 continues the company’s dedication to developing tools that cater to the evolving needs of PCB designers, further boosting productivity and accuracy.
