A new single-slot compact PXIe controller delivers twice the performance for modern test and measurement applications.
A groundbreaking PXIe embedded controller, developed by Pickering Interfaces, UK with next-generation model (43-920-002) significantly advances performance, offering twice the processing power of its predecessor. Designed to support high-bandwidth test and measurement (T&M) applications, the controller is a compact, single-slot solution for the PXI express platform, meeting the demands of future ready systems.
The new controller, built on the company’s previous model, is the most powerful 3U single-slot controller in the market. It incorporates an eleventh generation Intel Xeon processor, 64GB DDR4 memory, and a 2TB m.2 Type B SSD. With system throughput reaching up to 28 GB/s in 4-link or 2-link configurations, this device efficiently supports high-speed PCIe Gen4 and 10GB ASE-T interconnectivity. “Our new controller is the most compact and powerful 3U embedded controller available in a single-slot form factor for the PXI express and CompactPCI express platforms, combining capability and cost-effectiveness,” said Lee Huckle, chassis product manager, Pickering Interfaces.
Ideal for engineers and researchers in industries such as aerospace, automotive, telecommunications, and electronics, the controller is tailored for complex testing scenarios requiring high data throughput and reliability. Its compatibility with the company’s PXIe chassis, including the latest 21-slot fully hybrid model, ensures seamless integration into existing systems. Additionally, its compliance with PXI-5 PXI express hardware specification revision 2.0 ensures robust performance for demanding applications.
The controller also supports the company’s turnkey factory configuration service, simplifying integration with pre-installed Windows OS, drivers, and optional modules for switching, simulation, and instrumentation. The company continues to emphasise product durability, offering a three-year warranty and guaranteed long-term support for its hardware.
This new innovation underscores the company’s commitment to delivering future-proof modular signal switching and simulation solutions for electronic testing needs.
