Designed for automation, the design eliminates the need for tools, reducing assembly time and costs while ensuring long-term operational excellence.
TDK Corporation has unveiled push-in wire termination options for its high-reliability TDK-Lambda HWS-A family of AC-DC power supplies. The new HWS-A/E models, available with vertical or horizontal terminal orientations, simplify cable harnessing and are designed for cost and time-efficient automated manufacturing processes. These innovative terminals eliminate the need for tools during wire and ferrule insertion, offering improved reliability by removing the torque requirements and routine testing associated with screw terminal blocks.
The features include:
- High Efficiency: Up to 91%.
- Wide AC Input Range.
- Model Options: 15W, 30W, 50W, 100W, 150W.
- Output Voltages: 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V, 24V, 48V DC.
- Optional mesh cover and push-in wiring for select models.
The series, covering power ranges from 10W to 150W, is conservatively rated for ultra-reliability and backed by a unique industry-leading limited lifetime warranty. Designed to operate in demanding industrial environments, the power supplies accept a wide 85-265Vac input range and can withstand peaks up to 300Vac for five seconds. Output voltages range from 3.3V to 48V, supporting a variety of applications. All models are certified to key safety and performance standards, including IEC 62368-1, UL 508, and EN 62477-1 (OVC III for the 150W model). The series also meets SEMI F47 requirements, ensuring compatibility with stringent voltage fluctuation standards.
With push-in wire terminals tailored for automated and robotic assembly techniques, the HWS-A/E models cater to systems prioritizing manufacturing efficiency. The terminal design allows for rapid wire connection without additional tools, reducing assembly times and associated labor costs. These options are available for 12, 15, 24, and 48V outputs in models rated at 50W, 100W, and 150W.
Certified to IEC / EN / UL / CSA 62368-1 and UL 508, the HWS-A/E series also holds CE and UKCA markings, ensuring compliance with Low Voltage, EMC, and RoHS Directives. The conservative design extends to critical components, such as electrolytic capacitors, ensuring prolonged operational life in the field. The series sets a new standard in reliable, automated power solutions for industrial applications.
