First Prize was awarded to Mr. Visakan NL for a project that could potentially save many lives when implemented in busy cities like Bangalore. The project handles signal prioritization for emergency vehicles and public transit systems, and has the potential to enable ambulances and fire engines to cut through the otherwise unbeatable traffic in congested cities. The winning design uses the IoT concept to manage traffic light systems to allow emergency vehicles to glide through green lights to reach their destination quicker.
Second Prize went to Mr. Bharath Sudarshan for a portable smart vaccine monitor system that helps people manage their medications. The design employs IoT concepts to send alerts to caregivers’ mobile devices that provide updates, warnings about outdated vaccination information, and information regarding patient status. Third Prize was awarded to Mr. Suresh VS for a smart driver e-monitoring and alert system. The system employs cloud computing, big data, and IoT to help save lives through real-time, sensor-based alerts in crisis situations.
