Matrix Security Solutions have recently announced the Project Series Dome Cameras to meet the surveillance needs of large enterprises and project environments. The camera features an 8Mp back-illuminated CMOS sensor developed by Sony and a high MTF lens that enhances video quality in low light conditions. These project series cameras feature an IP67 rating and offer a fixed and motorized varifocal lens that enables options to zoom in and out of the video footage. The project series cameras can support SD card up to 512 Gb and has a H.265 compression and motion-based frame rate reduction system that reduces the memory requirement by up to 50%.
According to the company, the cameras can be used both indoors and outdoors and have a large field of view. Furthermore, these cameras are suitable for harsh weather conditions with night vision up to 30m, 3D digital noise reduction, and true WDR which improves the image lighting automatically. The camera is powered by Sony’s STARVIS sensor, a back-illuminated 8Mp CMOS sensor capable of producing 4k images with a maximum resolution of (3840 x 2160) it also features Progressive Scan.
Dome cameras have an inherent advantage over bullet cameras, they offer better protection against external impacts and harsh weather conditions, they are also more clandestine as it is difficult to judge their viewing areas. These Matrix cameras offer a fixed and motorized varifocal lens which enables the user to control the field of view along with zoom in/out of the video footage.
