Remote sensing helps scientists collect information about existence of water in Mars.

Evidence of hydrous and hydrated minerals were identified in the Martian surface by remote sensing instruments developed by scientists from IIT Bombay. These minerals are an indication of existence of liquid water or hydrothermal systems induced by fluids and changing temperature. Also evidence of impact generated hydrothermalism were found in the red planet.
