Job Overview
As a 5G Protocol Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing software validation tests for industry-leading 4G, 5G and beyond 5G test and measurement equipment. You will be an integral part of a highly skilled cross-functional team in an Agile development environment, assisting with the development of wide-ranging telecommunication protocol tests using in-house tools which ensure our product is delivered at the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Working within a cross-functional team in a scaled Agile methodology, actively participate in product increment planning, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Design, development, and execution of functional, stress and system-level tests
- Producing comprehensive test plans to product requirements and presenting them to stakeholders
- Create and maintain test documentation in Jira and Confluence
- Work to sprint goals and deliver within the required time and schedule
- Involve and contribute to the RAV community of practices
Qualifications
Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
- Bachelor’s degree or HND in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computing (candidates with significant prior work experience in similar environment without the relevant qualifications may be considered)
- Appreciation of the importance of software testing with a view on product quality, knowledge on various test methodologies
- Good and demonstrable knowledge of at least one scripting language (ideally Python)
- Knowledge of communication systems, RF and understanding of cellular radio standards is desirable
- Appreciation of RF measurement and analysis tools is desirable
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills using Company policy as a guide
- Proven ability to work independently with guidance, and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines
- Collaboration and team working skills, with the ability to develop strong productive relationships
- Vast communication skills, both verbal and written
- Eager to take on new challenges with support from others
