Position Overview
In this role, you will be instrumental in designing power electronics systems specifically for DC electric vehicle chargers. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of sustainable mobility, developing cutting-edge technology for fast and efficient DC charging systems that are essential for the transition to electric vehicles.
As a Power Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing hardware and firmware solutions for DC chargers. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including hardware and software engineers, you will be part of a dedicated team pushing the boundaries of reliable, high-performance charging technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement power electronic circuits and systems for DC fast chargers.
- Develop AC/DC and DC/DC converter circuits (Flyback, Forward, Phase Shift, Full-Bridge, Resonant Converters).
- Knowledge of EV charging protocols like CHAdeMO, CCS2, and experience in their implementation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware) to ensure charger system requirements are met.
- Convert User Requirement Specifications (URS) to System Requirement Specifications (SRS).
- Execute system integration, testing, and validation plans to ensure product functionality and compliance.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC requirements and resolution techniques for DC chargers.
- Ensure compliance with global standards (IEC 61851, UL 2202) and European regulations.
- Hands-on experience with testing high-voltage equipment and HV measurement tools.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and validate prototypes, ensuring product reliability and safety.
Desired Qualifications
- PhD in Power Electronics with 1+ years of experience, or MTech/ME with 3+ years, or BE/BTech with 5+ years in system engineering and design.
- Experience with high-voltage (800V-1000V) DC fast charging systems is a plus.
- Expertise in high-voltage power electronics components such as MOSFETs, IGBTs, and inverters.
- Experience in design tools such as PSIM, MATLAB, LTSPICE, and PCB layout software.
- Strong communication skills, particularly in explaining technical matters to cross-functional teams and international clients.
- Familiarity with system design tools and hands-on experience in testing at both the component and vehicle level.
