JOB: Hardware Engineer At Allegion In Bengaluru

Allegion is looking for a passionate Hardware Engineer to work as part of a highly engaged small team within a global organization of 12,000+ employees, representing 30+ brands (including Schlage, Von Duprin and LCN) focused on safety, “security,” and access management.  You’ll work on solutions that will enable seamless access and help keep you and your loved ones safe and secure where they work, live, and thrive.

What You’ll Do

  • Standardize Electronics product data management methodologies by working closely with global engineering teams.
  • Ensure proper classification and categorization of electronics components within the PLM system for efficient data retrieval and management.
  • Work with various project teams to provide guidance on proper product data management best practices for data creation (part numbering, product structure, etc.) and data management (CR/ECN strategy, etc.)
  • Work with global PLM users to troubleshoot issues, coach on related best practices, and/or to realign product data to comply with the latest standards. 
  • Automate standard work that enhances user experience and drives efficiency.
  • Promote electronics product data standards and best practices.
  • Lead opportunities to identify and drive continuous improvement with eCAD / mCAD / PLM workflows and functionality.
  • Participate in validation testing to PLM workflow updates and enhancements. 
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver engaging training at all levels of the business.

What We Are Looking For

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in PLM (Windchill preferred) systems, with working knowledge of Bill of Material creation, and maintenance a strong plus.
  • Experience in component engineering and hands-on experience in Silicon Expert is a plus.
  • Understanding of electronics product design process and key deliverables at different stages
  • Knowledge of electronics product manufacturing process
  • Strong decision-making ability to provide real-time guidance and feedback while maintaining relationships with global business partners.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly articulate business value at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Experience in component selection.

Experience: 3 to 5 years

Education

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another related technical field.
