Position Summary
The incumbent will be a Lead Hardware Engineer and will undertake design and development work for Hardware / Embedded work in the Innovation group. The individual will innovate and develop integrated wired and wireless communication capabilities from proof of concept through final design and production within IoT and embedded devices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Translate User needs to requirements and electronic design
- Understand Electronics life cycle process from concept phase through production and field support phases
- Develop prototype and proof of concept HW from single function IoT devices through multi-functional embedded devices
- Systematically improve the detail design of existing products
- Develop/Modify Board Support Packages for prototype hardware
Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of circuit design, development and testing
- Strong knowledge of SoC board design
- Knowledge of the wireless technologies like WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc. is a plus
- Experience assembling prototypes
- Experience using circuit design and test tools such as Altium, Solidworks PCB, Circuit Simulators, etc.
- Experience with Hardware debugging
- Basic software programming knowledge in C/C++
- Willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies, understanding the existing system & its implementation and offer innovative solutions
- Self-starter and should be able to work with minimal guidance (individual contributor)
- Excellent communication skills and can clearly articulate ideas, designs, and suggestions
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders in cross-functional & global teams
Education and Experience
- Bachelors or master’s degree in engineering (computer science, electrical, electronics & communication engineering and/or allied fields)
- Experience in medical devices and/or healthcare industry is a plus
- Experience with Embedded devices is a plus
- Experience of 6-10 years in a hardware role and working proficiency in software development/ programming language (C/C++)

• Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- This is largely a sedentary role
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment
- May need to lift and transport moderately heavy objects, such as computers or peripheral
