As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our interdisciplinary project teams, contributing to the design and development of cutting-edge electronic systems. With a minimum of 1+ years of experience and a background in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering, you will be responsible for creating electronic functionalities, defining requirements, and conducting risk and reliability analyses. Your expertise in PCB layout design, electronics simulation, and schematic design will be crucial as you work towards achieving optimal solutions for mass manufacturing, cost efficiency, and overall product performance.
Qualifications Requirements
- At least 1+ years of work experience in electronics design
- Work experience in interdisciplinary project teams (production, testing, mechanics, hardware, software, and mechanics)
- Experience in PCB layout design, electronics simulation, schematic design, and a solid understanding of electronic components; basic prototyping and testing abilities
- Experience with MATLAB, or similar simulation program
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronics, Mechatronics, or Electrical engineering
Roles and Responsibilities
- Electronic functionality based on needs and system-level functionality
- Electronics requirements based on defined functionality, industry requirements, standards, and price targets
- Risk analysis and assessment for defined requirements
- Reliability analysis
- Electronics concept development based on needed features and specifications
- Choosing components by specifications and financial goals
- Designing the schematic, PCB layout, wiring, and connections to satisfy criteria for mass manufacturing, cost, mechanical, EMC/EMI, and environmental factors.
- Electrical modeling and experimentation to confirm the intended electronics’ proper operation
- Design for manufacturability and design for testing
- Hardware quality, validation testing, writing test specifications
- Electronics documentation through design logs, reports, whitepapers, and user/integrator manuals
- Create passive power parts for electrified car powertrains, primarily power inductors and capacitors, to provide higher performance at reduced prices, weights, and dimensions.
- Examine and research innovative circuit topologies, as well as component, board, packaging, and manufacturing methods, to enhance circuit performance and fault tolerance while lowering total costs, weight, and dimensions.
- To attain excellent accuracy, resilience, and low power consumption in power electronics applications, create mixed-mode circuits.
- Collaboration with manufacturing engineers and suppliers to transition concepts to production.
