In this role, you will be instrumental in designing the power electronics backbone of our products destined for space missions. It’s an opportunity to be part of a team that sends products soaring beyond Earth’s atmosphere, contributing to the cutting edge of space technology.
As a Power Electronics Firmware Engineer, you will be at the forefront of our product development, responsible for power electronics firmware solutions for our next-generation power electronics systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software engineers, and product managers, to develop robust power supplies that drive the performance and functionality of our innovative products.
Job Description
- Design and develop controller firmware for power supplies, DC-DC converters, and other power converters.
- Implement control solutions in embedded controllers using programming languages including
- C and C++ as well as PLD programming languages.
- Responsible for the successful implementation and delivery of embedded software products and components throughout the entire product lifecycle.
- Participate in embedded control system design, including digital and analog circuits.
- Conduct and participate in design and project risk assessments, FMEA/DFMEA and design reviews.
- Identifying cost-competitive technological alternatives suitable for space application.
- Support technical documentation.
Desired Qualification
- Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Computer Science Engineering or equivalent degree.
- Must have 2+ years of professional experience developing power electronics firmware with embedded software, microcontrollers, Digital signal processors, FPGAs, etc.
- Experienced in architecture, design, and development of embedded software to interface and control power converters and drives.
- Design and debug experience for peripherals needed for power converter control such PWMs, ADCs, SPIs, and timers.
- Experience with serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-485, RS-232, CAN, SPI).
- Familiar with industry standard embedded design and debugging tools (Oscilloscopes, EMC analyzers, power sources, JTAG, protocol analyzers, emulators).
- Understanding of closed-loop control of power converters and familiarity with circuit simulation tools like PSIM, LTSPICE, SIMULINK will be an added advantage.
- Familiar with hardware schematics, PCB design, and ability to work with the hardware team to define software requirements.
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
