Roles and Responsibilities
- Will be part of Schneider Electric’s R&D Engineering team.
- This position needs to have in depth engineering, functional, technical knowledge about UPS systems especially on 3 phase UPS systems
- This includes knowledge & skills needed for the candidate to maintain, operate, trouble shoot, 3 Phase medium/high power UPS systems, PDU Products, STS Products, Lab related tools & equipment.
- Product Verification & Validation, Product Certification in 3Phase Schneider Lab and in 3rd Party labs
- Hands on Knowledge in operating the lab equipment like Power Analyzer, Scope etc.,
- Develop test environments and test cases for all mechanical and electrical systems
- Analyze test results, detect issues and track root causes. Suggest fixes and improvements
- Document technical issues and solutions, great troubleshooting skills.
- Build automated testing systems for regular checks
- Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards
- This candidate will be based out of Schneider Electric Bangalore, India office & will be responsible to fulfil the Product Squad Requirement.
Essential Functions
- Provide high level of engineering support for 3 phase UPS products, PDU, STS and ancillary products.
- The engineering support includes areas of UPS, batteries, electrical panels, cables, power distribution products, transfer switches, transformers, power monitoring solutions, breakers and other electrical components.
- Understand UPS products through design, specification, applicable standards, configuration, application, operations etc to provide fast and accurate response to field service/sales teams/LOB design leads in support of field failed parts analysis/Service or Sales queries.
- Continuous improvement on knowledge about 3 phase UPS products, their user operational/installation/Service manuals.
- Understanding databases usage on products, products related high level technical documents
- Develop knowledge in UPS communication tools to download data, upgrade FW, etc.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
- Good knowledge in UPS designs & different topologies
- Good knowledge in power electronics circuits like, Charger, Inverter, Battery configurations, High DC voltage systems etc
- High level skills needed in planning/execution of analysis/simulation/fault reproduction etc
- Good knowledge about electronic/electrical components, knowledge about analogue/digital components/circuits understanding with analysis/trouble shooting skills
- Good understanding in Lab related tools usage
- Good knowledge in safety standards, electrical codes, Symbols, earthing systems etc
- Good component level analytic skills on PCBA’s, high power electrical/electronic Circuits
- Good knowledge in usage/functionality of lab related equipments/instruments like Oscilloscopes, function generators, LCR meters, thermal & power analyzers, digital multimeters etc
- Strong working knowledge on power systems design for critical applications
- Soldering, desoldring skills & related high tech tools usage knowledge
- Knowledge of PPE’s, Safety, ESD Hazards
- Good command in English
- Written – ability to communicate in a clear & concise manner with internal & external customers.
- Ability to work both independently & as part of a team
Education
Bachelors Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (or) Equivalent

Experience – Minimum Required:
- 3-5 yrs or more experience in Electrical Engineering or equivalent in critical power systems
- Previous experience as a Test Engineer or similar role
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
