We are looking for a talented and experienced Power Electronics Test Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in testing, validating, and optimizing high-power electronic systems and components. This individual will work closely with design, development, and quality assurance teams to ensure that our power electronic systems meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and Validation:
- Develop, plan, and execute tests for power electronics systems (e.g., inverters, converters, EV chargers, etc.).
- Validate performance and reliability of components, including power semiconductors, magnetics, capacitors, and thermal management systems.
- Perform functional, endurance, and environmental testing to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze test data and prepare detailed technical reports outlining test results, deviations, and recommendations for improvement.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system-level and component-level issues.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure products meet applicable industry standards (IEC, UL, etc.) and customer-specific requirements.
- Support safety and compliance testing (EMI/EMC, thermal, insulation, etc.).
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, software engineers, and quality assurance to improve design for testing.
- Provide feedback to design teams for optimization and performance improvements.
- Equipment and Tools:
- Set up and maintain test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal chambers, etc.
- Work with automated test systems to streamline test processes.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and improve test procedures, processes, and methodologies to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of testing.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics testing technologies and industry trends.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 4+ years of experience in power electronics testing, preferably in automotive, renewable energy, or industrial applications.
- Willing to travel between Cochin and Chennai
- Experience with high-power systems (e.g., >10 kW) and high-voltage testing.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of power electronics principles and components (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN devices).
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, power analyzers, thermal cameras, and other diagnostic tools.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC testing, thermal management, and reliability testing.
- Experience with relevant industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, MIL-STD).
- Proficiency in using test automation tools and software for data analysis (LabVIEW, MATLAB, Python, etc.).
- Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
