The reference design is an integrated single-chip solution that includes a linear charger, a synchronous boost converter with dual output load management, and support for a torch function. Branded as EZPBS (Easy to Use Power Bank Solution), this all-in-one chip features a linear charger, a synchronous boost converter with dual output load management, and support for a torch function. It also includes a 4-LED indicator to display battery capacity and charging or discharging status. The RT9480 comes in a compact WQFN-24L 4×4 package.

The product features include a compact BOM with a single-chip design, incorporating essential protection functions such as OTP, OVP, OCP, VBUS, and output short protection. It supports simultaneous charging and discharging through a smart algorithm. The charger features a linear charger with a capacity of up to 1.2A, Dynamic Power Management (DPM), thermal regulation, auto-recharge, and JEITA function support. The USB output supports dual USB outputs with auto and button control, and the sync boost can deliver up to 2.5A with peak efficiency at 97%. Additionally, the product includes a battery state of charge (SOC) indicator, battery SOC detection, NTC support for battery temperature sensing, and 4 LEDs for displaying battery SOC.

This product’s input voltage range is 3V to 4.2V. The USB output voltage is set at 5.1V, and the VBUS input voltage range is between 4.75V and 5.25V.
