ublox has announced the launch of the MAYAW4, an affordable triradio module bringing advanced wireless connectivity to a broader market. It supports dualband WiFi 6, Bluetooth Low Energy 5.4, and 802.15.4 (supporting Thread for Matter), setting a new standard in IoT connectivity across various industries by enhancing device interoperability and communication.

Designed to meet the rising demand for reliable, powerefficient connectivity, it combines WiFi 6, Bluetooth LE, and 802.15.4 in one compact module. Its versatility makes it ideal for applications ranging from highspeed WiFi 6 for industrial tools to lowpower Bluetooth mesh networks for smart homes. With its compact form factor and durable build, it is particularly suited for spacelimited applications, and global certifications streamline deployment across regions.

  • Single and dualband WiFi 6, 1×1, 20 MHz channels
  •  Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) 5.4
  •  802.15.4 radio with Thread support
  •  Supports Matter over WiFi and Thread
  •  Options: PCB antenna, U.FL connector(s), antenna pin(s)
  • Security: Secure boot, firmware, OTP memory, NXP Edgelock

As WiFi 6 adoption accelerates in IoT sectors, it meets this trend with an efficient design that reduces network congestion and optimises power consumption. It’s robust enough for industrial settings, with an operating temperature range from 40°C to +85°C. Offering essential features and optimized data throughput, the MAYAW4 effectively balances cost and performance. Its 802.15.4 capability supports lowpower, mesh networked IoT applications, paving the way for nextgeneration connected devices.

This new module is designed for easy integration, allowing manufacturers to scale designs for evolving market needs. Available antenna options (pin out, embedded, or U.FL connector) add further flexibility, while its compact 10 x 14 x 1.9 mm dimensions align with previous models, simplifying upgrades. It integrates the NXP IW610 chipset, a recent release from NXP  Semiconductors, to bring cuttingedge connectivity to markets like industrial, medical, and consumer sectors.
