Teledyne DALSA has launched the next generation of its AI-powered BOA 3 smart camera, designed for industrial automation and inspection. This new release builds upon the proven performance of previous BOA models, incorporating cutting-edge sensor technology and AI inspection tools developed by the company.The smart camera is a fully integrated vision system housed in a compact, rugged design that meets the rigorous demands of complex machine vision applications. It offers a modular and flexible architecture, making it a versatile solution for embedded machine vision inspections.

It comes equipped with user-friendly machine vision software integrated into a unified platform. This provides manufacturers a flexible, cost-effective option for implementing embedded machine vision systems without sacrificing functionality. The no-code inspection development software includes tools for positioning, part locating, pattern matching, barcode reading, defect detection, and AI-based character recognition (OCR). Additionally, users can enhance traditional vision tools with AI-based classification or object detection models created using Astrocyte, Teledyne DALSA’s AI training software. Monochrome models with 1.2MP, 5MP, and 12MP sensors are available immediately, with colour versions expected by the end of 2024. Additional sensor and lens options will be introduced in 2025.
