AMD has announced new products to expand its commercial mobile and desktop AI PC portfolio, enhancing productivity, AI, and connectivity for business users. The AMD Ryzen PRO 8040 Series includes x86 processors for business laptops and mobile workstations. The company has also introduced the AMD Ryzen PRO 8000 Series desktop processor, the first AI-enabled desktop processor for business users, designed for performance with efficient power use.

The latest Ryzen AI-powered processors use the CPU, GPU, and a dedicated on-chip neural processing unit (NPU). They offer more AI processing power than previous models, with up to 16 dedicated NPU TOPS and up to 39 total system TOPS. Commercial PCs with these new Ryzen AI-enabled processors will enhance the user experience, supporting AI-driven collaboration, content creation, and data analytics.

The \8040 and 8000 Series processors, suitable for business laptops, mobile workstations, and desktop PCs, are designed to support tasks that benefit from AI technology, such as AI-driven collaboration, content creation, and data analytics. IT managers will mainly find these processors beneficial as the integrated AMD PRO technologies provide features that simplify IT operations. These include manageability options that help streamline IT tasks and accelerate PC deployment across companies, robust security features essential for protecting enterprise environments from sophisticated threats, and ensuring the stability, reliability, and longevity required for enterprise software.

“AMD delivers the broadest portfolio of AI technologies to address the needs of the modern business. As we continue to expand our AI PC leadership, we are bringing more power and efficiency to a wide array of desktops and mobile PCs,” said Jack Huynh, senior vice president and general manager of the Computing and Graphics Group at AMD. “Our latest PRO series processors set a new standard for premium computing experiences and help businesses deploy AI capabilities across their PCs with leadership performance and security.”
