The modular system offers flexible configurations, reducing testing time and costs while improving efficiency, this solution integrates seamlessly into production environments, ensuring high performance and compliance with industry standards.
Rohde & Schwarz has introduced new options for its automotive radar target simulator, the R&S AREG800A. The R&S AREGP is designed to support the smooth transition of automotive radar sensors from research and development (R&D) to production. It can be used as a standalone system or integrated with NOFFZ’s production test systems to help Tier 1 automotive radar suppliers improve throughput, reduce testing time, and manage endofline testing costs. The key features include:
- Â High performance accuracy
- Â Minimizes Operational Expenditure (OPEX)
- Â Reduces Time to Market (TTM)
- Â Compact design saves valuable footprint
- Â Minimizes CO2 emissions
- Â Creates environmentally friendly testing areas
It has a modular structure, which includes a base unit and up to three fully digital channels. Each channel independently generates artificial objects, with the option to connect up to three frontends to one base unit. This flexibility accommodates various production requirements. The system’s 5 GHz RF instantaneous bandwidth and analogue IF output interfaces enable comprehensive radar testing, including EIRP and bandwidth measurements, with the addition of company-specific sensors and analysers. These features ensure that production models maintain the high-performance standards set during the R&D phase and comply with quality assurance and regulatory standards.
It is available in multiple configurations to suit different production needs. It offers a streamlined transition of radar test technology to production, while the other one allows for parallel testing of two radars in separate chambers. It minimises testing time by eliminating azimuth sweeps and reduces testing time further by eliminating both azimuth and elevation sweeps. The options bring cost efficiency and environmental benefits, reducing capital and operational expenditures. The compact design saves space, lowers CO2 emissions, and supports fast, easy deployment. Features like variable object distance and patented technologies are also transferred from R&D to production, enhancing first pass yield (FPY) and reducing waste.
In collaboration with NOFFZ Technologies, Rohde & Schwarz ensures that the R&S AREGP is fully integrated into production systems, providing radar manufacturers with a reliable, efficient solution for automotive radar production.
