The System on Module offers a powerful processor and versatile functionality for industrial gateways, medical devices, and energy storage systems.
MYIR introduced the MYC-YG2UL CPU Module, a compact embedded System on Module (SoM) incorporating the Renesas RZ/G2UL processor. This advanced processor combines a 1GHz ARM Cortex-A55 core and a 200MHz real-time ARM Cortex-M33 core. The module is equipped with support for dual Gigabit Ethernet, two Controller Area Network Flexible Data-rate (CAN FD), two USB 2.0 ports, up to seven Universal Asynchronous Receiver-Transmitters (UART), an RGB display interface, and a Mobile Industry Processor Interface – Camera Serial Interface (MIPI-CSI). These functionalities make the MYC-YG2UL module particularly well-suited for various applications, including entry-level industrial gateways, Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), medical devices, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), charging stations, and energy storage systems.
Regarding physical dimensions, the MYC-YG2UL CPU Module is impressively compact, measuring just 37mm by 39mm. It integrates a central processing unit (CPU), Double Data Rate 3 Low Voltage (DDR3L) memory, embedded MultiMediaCard (eMMC), Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory (EEPROM), and a Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC). This integration offers a minimal yet comprehensive system for embedded designs, facilitated by its 1.0 mm pitch 140-pin Castellated-Hole and 50-pin Land Grid Array (LGA) expansion interfaces. Additionally, the module is compatible with the Linux operating system. It comes bundled with essential software resources, including kernel and driver source code, a detailed user manual, and documentation to streamline customer development processes.
Some of the key features of the CPU Module are:
- Dimensions: 37mm x 39mm
- PCB Layers: 10-layer design
- Power supply: 5V/1A
- Working temperature: -40~85 Celsius (industrial grade)
- Renesas RZ/G2UL Processor
- 512MB DDR3L
- 4GB eMMC
- 4KB EEPROM
- Power Management IC
The MYD-YG2UL development board centred around the MYC-YG2UL CPU Module, is a comprehensive evaluation platform featuring various peripherals and interfaces. This board is a robust reference design for solutions utilising the RZ/G2UL processor.
