With its user-friendly interface and advanced features like real-time parameter monitoring, automated board setup, and comprehensive signal analysis, this suite empowers engineers to optimize motor control applications quickly and efficiently.
Infineon Technologies has introduced the ModusToolbox Motor Suite, a powerful and versatile solution for motor control development. This new suite provides a range of software, tools, and resources designed to streamline the development, configuration, and monitoring of motor control applications, making it suitable for a broad array of industries. With applications in industrial automation, robotics, and consumer goods like home appliances, HVAC systems, drones, and light electric vehicles, the ModusToolbox Motor Suite is set to accelerate product innovation across sectors.
The suite enhances efficiency throughout the development process by offering real-time parameter monitoring. This enables engineers to gain valuable insights into motor performance, efficiency, and reliability. Developers can quickly detect issues, optimize designs, and improve functionality.
Key features include:
- Automated board setup
- Comprehensive signal analysis
- Customised status monitoring.
The suite also boasts automatic detection of compatible boards and kits, real-time visualisation of motor control signals, and optimised system performance through pre-configured algorithms. Incorporating robust algorithms for control across a range of motor types, the Suite currently supports the company’s XMC7000 microcontrollers. Future updates are planned to expand support to include industrial MCUs, with integration for PSOC Control already confirmed. Ease of use is central to the suite’s design. It provides a graphical user interface that simplifies motor control development alongside a hardware-abstracted core library for adaptable and flexible design.
Steve Tateosian, Senior Vice President of IoT and Industrial MCUs at Infineon, highlighted the suite’s user-centric design: “ModusToolbox Motor Suite empowers developers to create innovative motor control applications easily and efficiently. By expanding the ModusToolbox ecosystem, we are providing the tools developers need to focus on building better products.”
