RECOM has introduced the RACPRO1-4SP series, a new line of four-channel electronic circuit breakers with enhanced control and protection features. This launch follows the success of the RACPRO1-T series of DIN-rail power supplies, with the RACPRO1-4SP offering a matching DIN-rail format.

The e-fuses distribute a 24V supply voltage to four current-limited load channels, each capable of 5A or 10A, depending on the model. Each channel powers up sequentially to prevent high inrush currents with a programmed delay. The soft-start function ensures the loads can be switched on and off during operation, supporting hot-swap and hot-plug compatibility.

An under-voltage lockout (UVLO) with hysteresis guards against issues caused by voltage dips at startup or under heavy load, improving system reliability. Each channel can handle 150% of the rated current for up to 5 seconds to manage high startup currents from inductive or capacitive loads without false tripping.

In case of overload, the channels disconnect sequentially, prioritizing the most critical load until the last. For sustained short circuits or overloads lasting more than 5 seconds, the fuse disconnects the affected load, leaving the others operational. The overcurrent protection (OCP) feature can be set to auto-recovery or latching mode.

The smooth voltage control ensures safe current ramp-up, even with high capacitive loads up to 20mF. Channels can also be disabled for maintenance or troubleshooting, with a key lock to prevent accidental disconnection.

The design includes paired input terminals and separate (+, -) load terminals for easy daisy-chaining and load wiring, eliminating the need for additional terminal blocks. Multiple e-fuse modules can be connected to the same power supply for more complex systems, each monitored and protected individually.

The DC-oK volt-free relay connection reports the module’s status to a central controller, while remote reset allows for targeted restarts after faults are cleared. This makes the RACPRO1-4SP ideal for integration with PLC and SCADA systems.
