The DC/DC converters feature wide input ranges and robust protection, making them suitable for diverse industrial and technological applications.

Non-isolated DC/DC converters

RECOM has introduced two non-isolated DC/DC converters, the RPMGE-10 and RPMGH-40, offering outputs of 10A and 40A in half-brick and eighth-brick formats, respectively. These models support an input range of 18-75VDC, accommodating various nominal values, with adjustable DC outputs of 3.3-8VDC and 8-34VDC for the RPMGE-10 and RPMGH-40, respectively.

These converters are designed for various industries and applications, including electronics engineering, telecommunications, industrial automation, renewable energy, automotive, IT and data centres, medical devices, and aerospace and defence. They support systems that require stable and adjustable power management, suitable for applications ranging from electronic circuit development to power distribution in vehicles and solutions in harsh environments.

The converters achieve up to 95% efficiency, allowing operation at full load in temperatures exceeding 100°C with airflow and up to 120°C with derating at nominal voltages. They have a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) exceeding 1.2 million hours.

Additional features include on/off control, output trim, remote sense control inputs, and protection against under-voltage lockout, overload, over-temperature, and short circuits. The converters are available in an open frame, a through-hole mounting format that adheres to industry-standard dimensions and pinouts.

Some of the key features of the non-isolated DC/DC converter series include:

  • 10A non-isolated eighth brick
  • 18 to 75VDC (90VDC, transient) wide input range
  • 3.3 to 15VDC adjustable output
  • Standard eighth brick format
  • High efficiency up to 95%
  • Operating temperature derates to 120°C

Matthew Dauterive, MSc. DC/DC product manager of RECOM comments – “These new non-isolated DC/DCs are super-flexible with their wide input and output voltage ranges, suiting many cost-sensitive and high-performance point-of-load regulator applications”.
