Interconnects supporting up to 65 GHz launched, offering space-saving design and robust performance.
Fairview Microwave, part of Infinite Electronics, specializing in RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave products, have launched Switched-Mode Power Supply (SMPS) interconnects. The company claims that the connectors are engineered to be compact and cater to high-frequency needs, supporting up to 65 GHz, which positions them as ideal for the stringent requirements of military and aerospace sectors.
The SMPS interconnects are designed as miniature push-on connectors, representing the pinnacle of rapid assembly and convenience. Their extensive operational frequency range from DC to 65 GHz affords them the flexibility to be employed in various settings. The connectors’ blind-mateable feature streamlines efficiency, offering a dependable mating solution across diverse uses.
Their adherence to the MIL-STD-202 standard guarantees their dependability, aligning with the highest military specifications. These connectors are enhanced with bullets and adapters, broadening their application potential. They promise robust connections even in challenging circumstances and are designed to resist radial and axial misalignment. These connectors also enable board stacking to heights under 0.120 inches, demonstrating their high design efficacy.
The FMAD9989 and FMAD9990 are part of a comprehensive stock of interconnect RF components featuring a coaxial SMPS to SMPS adapter design with a 50-ohm impedance aligned with RF adapter standards. Similarly, the FMCN45893 and FMCN45894 connectors have a push-on SMPS female interface and the same impedance level. The former is a straight connector, while the latter is right-angled; both use solder for secure attachment and are operational over a frequency range from DC up to 40 GHz.
Some of the key specifications of the SMPS interconnects include:
- Polarity: Standard
- Connector Series: SMPS
- Connector Gender: Female
- Impedance: 50 Ohm
- Minimum Frequency: DC
“Our new SMPS interconnects exemplify Fairview’s relentless pursuit of innovation and top-tier quality,” said Product Line Manager Tim Galla. “They offer a smaller form factor than their SMPM counterparts, ensuring space-saving without compromising performance.”
