Infineon Technologies have launched a software toolbox for embedded developers with a wide range of features to develop software solutions for their hardware designs.
With the increasing importance of software in a wide range of embedded solutions found in modern products, embedded developers must possess suitable software tools to launch these products successfully. This includes utilizing development tools that offer flexibility and a robust platform with features and capabilities that cater to all stages, from the initial “getting started” phase to the final hardware deployment. Infineon Technologies AG have launched ModusToolbox™ 3.1, which the company claims offers embedded developers an array of enhanced capabilities. According to the press release issued by the company, the toolbox equips developers with a wide range of features to efficiently develop software solutions for their hardware designs. The company claims that the software is a complete collection of development tools and embedded run-time assets, offering a versatile and effective environment for software development.
According to the company’s claim, the toolbox introduces a new dashboard application as a comprehensive “getting started” resource. The dashboard offers a guided workflow for creating new embedded projects across different Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Microsoft Visual Studio Code, IAR Embedded Workbench, Eclipse IDE, etc. The company claims to launch the latest toolbox version that includes significant updates to the board support package (BSP) Assistant with a new user interface for creating BSPs using a device-centric approach. Moreover, this version continues supporting Infineon’s development board library, including reference BSPs. The latest version of the toolbox is available to download for Linux, macOS and Windows users.
“Learning a new development tool can seem like a challenging task,” said Clark Jarvis, Software and Tools Technical Marketer of Infineon. “Infineon’s ModusToolbox now includes a robust dashboard that gives developers key resources to make getting started easier than before. Even more, there are significant enhancements in the way the tools support development on final customer hardware using the BSP Assistant. This allows ModusToolbox to support the developer from start to finish.”
