New Developer Platform Enhances Edge AI Development And Hardware Integration

Cooper Developer Platform Offers Energy-Efficient Solutions for Industrial, AIoT, Intelligent Video Analytics, and Edge AI Computing Applications

Ambarella, Inc. introduced the Cooper Developer Platform, which seamlessly combines software, hardware, finely-tuned AI models, and services to offer comprehensive support for Ambarella’s entire range of AI systems-on-chip (SoCs). This platform simplifies the development process for customers by providing a versatile, modular, and pre-packaged set of hardware and software development tools. It comprises Cooper Metal, encompassing AI SoCs and board-level hardware solutions optimized for power efficiency, and Cooper Foundry, a multi-layer software stack that includes Cooper Core, Cooper Foundation, Cooper Vision, and Cooper UX.ems on Module (SoMs) and developer kits that come preloaded with Cooper Foundry.

  • Core: This component includes a Linux-based operating system, compilers, and software development kits (SDKs). In addition to the company’s existing suite of development tools, Core introduces a framework for seamless integration with widely-used open-source software tools.
  • Foundation: Within this part lies the Model Garden, a curated collection of open-source, finely-tuned, pre-trained neural network models designed for rapid AI development.
  • Vision: It offers essential building blocks for multi-modal sensor processing and fusion, incorporating data from various sources such as cameras, radars, and LiDARs.
  • UX: This component provides a familiar Lychee-based user interface that empowers developers to easily create production-ready AI applications. It also simplifies debugging through Home, which automates the visualisation and profiling of AI model performance on targeted SoCs.
