Murata Type 2EG is one of the lowest power-consuming connectivity modules available in the market. It is based on the RSL15 secure Bluetooth 5.2 MCU and supports the latest Bluetooth 5.2 specifications, including long-range, proximity, a high transmit rate, and up to 10 simultaneous connections. The Type 2EG will enable engineers to bring down the size and cost of the IoT devices while enabling higher data transfer rates, secured data transfers, and longer run time in a single charge. The Murata Type 2EG is suitable for use in a variety of industries including connected IoT edge devices in industrial and medical applications.
According to the company, Type 2 features two extremely power-efficient radios and a low power microprocessor, enabling it to function with lower energy than any other competing product in the market. Furthermore, the connectivity module features Arm TrustZone and Arm CryptoCell-312 technologies that provide data security protection. The whole module measures just 7mm x 7.4mm x 1.0mm making it suitable for space-constrained applications. Moreover, it integrates Bluetooth LE SoC, RF front end, fast and slow clock for operation and sleep mode, a large value inductor for low power mode, as well as an onboard antenna. This highly integrated, fully-certified solution simplifies IoT device system design to shorten the time-to-market.
