IPS1025HF is a high-side power switch that can enable electrical loads to instantly turn ON and OFF by connecting it to a single side of the supply.

IPS1025HF from STMicroelectronics is a fast-starting high-side power switch for use in safety systems that require minimal power-on delay time. The high-side power switch has a response time of less than 60µs making it suitable for critical applications. The IPS1025HF can drive a resistive, inductive or capacitive load with one side connected to the ground, thus simplifying the design and reducing component count. The compact device can work over a wide input-voltage range from 8.65V to 60V and is able to tolerate up to 65V on the input pin, moreover, it offers a programmable current limitation value at power switch activation. It is also capable of withstanding harsh industrial environments making it suitable for applications such as vending machines, factory automation I/O peripherals, computer numerical control machine (CNC) machines etc.

The IPS1025HF is a single high-side switch ICs that features two programmable current-limit settings. This allows the user to control the current limit value, thus, enhancing the flexibility for driving different loads such as motors, bulbs, etc. It can also drive capacitive loads that demand a high initial peak current. The IPS1025GF offers multiple safety features and on-chip diagnostics to improve the safety of the system. The output stage of IPS1025HF is an N-channel Power MOSFET with a typical Rds(on) of 12.5mOhm at ambient temperature, ensuring high energy efficiency and low thermal dissipation. It also features an integrated active clamp for fast demagnetization.

The IPS1025HF comes with multiple safety features including under-voltage, overvoltage, overload, short circuit, ground disconnection, and Vcc disconnection. Furthermore, it also offers on-chip diagnostics that includes individual signalling of output overload and junction overtemperature and there is an extra thermal sensor to detect excessive case temperature. The IPS1025HF is available in powerSSO-24 and QFN48L packages. The device is designed to meet IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4, and IEC 61000-4-5 specifications for ESD, fast-transient, and surge immunity.
