The Raspberry Pi Zero becomes even more versatile when paired with a small TFT display. DISPLAY VISIONS has introduced an adapter that connects to the Raspberry Zero’s GPIO connector. This adapter supports the touch functionality on the TFT015, TFT020, TFT028, and TFT035 series displays. Users can also download free Raspberry code to use these display screens for various applications.

The adapter board is compact, measuring 51.6 x 17 mm, and can be separated for flexible mounting in tight spaces. It connects to the display via a flexible FPC cable in various lengths. The TFT displays are energy-efficient, making them suitable for low power mode operations with the Raspberry Pi Zero.

The 1.5-inch TFT displays are the first small-sized quadratic displays globally. These displays use IPS technology, which provides viewing angles with colour stability, ensuring colours remain consistent from different angles. They are suitable for use in various orientations.

The displays have a brightness typically over 1000cd/m², suitable for use in industrial and medical environments, including under direct sunlight. They support multiple interface modes, including a standard RGB interface for fast content changes, a 4-wire SPI interface for reduced pin usage, and 16-bit and 8-bit μC data bus interfaces for parallel access.

Some of the key features of the displays include:

  • Screen size: 1.54 inch
  • Resolution: 240 RGB (H) × 240 (V) Pixel
  • Active area: 27.72 x 27.72 mm
  • Outline dimension: 32.0(W) x 35.0(H)
  • Pixel pitch: 0.1155 (H) x 0.1155 (V) mm
  • Temperature Range Operation: -20~70 ℃
  • Storage: -30~80 ℃
  • Input voltage: 3.3 V

The design uses a single connector for the display interface, a power supply for the backlight, and a touch panel interface, simplifying production and conserving PCB space by requiring only one FPC connector.
