System-On-Module For Edge IIoT Applications

MYIR has launched the MYC-LMA35 System-On-Module (SOM), equipped with the Nuvoton NuMicro MA35D1 processor. The processor features two 64-bit Arm Cortex-A35 cores with speeds up to 800 MHz and an additional 180 MHz Arm Cortex-M4 core, suitable for edge IIoT gateway applications.

The SOM includes 256MB of DDR3L memory within the MA35D1 MPU and offers external storage options of 256MB Nand Flash or 8GB eMMC and a 32 Kbit EEPROM. Packaged in an LGA with a 252-pin expansion interface, it supports various peripheral and IO signals such as 17x UART, 4x CAN FD, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x USB 2.0 HS, 1x SDIO3.0, 1x RGB, 1x CSI, and 2x I2S, utilizing the capabilities of the MPU. It includes connectivity interfaces, an LCD controller, a 2D graphics engine, and JPEG and H.264 decoders, making it suitable for applications including Edge Gateways, AI/ML solutions, HMI systems, industrial control, construction machinery controllers, motion controllers, OBD automotive diagnostic tools, and new energy applications.

The company also offers a development board designed for prototyping and evaluating NuMicro MA35D1 solutions. This board includes the SOM and an expansion board that provides access to various peripherals through its 252-pin LGA expansion interface. Peripherals available include 6x RS232, 6x RS485, 2x USB 2.0 Host, 1x USB 2.0 OTG, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, 4x CAN, 1x Micro SD card slot, and an integrated WiFi/Bluetooth module. The SoM also features an M.2 Socket for USB-based 4G/5G LTE Modules with two SIM card holders, an RGB display interface for a 7-inch LCD Module, a Parallel CSI interface, and an audio interface. It also includes a 30-pin extension interface for additional resources like GPIO, UART, SPI, and PWM, enabling users to expand and customize their development projects.
