IIT Madras is delighted to inform you about the RISC-V Roadshow on Shakti Ideology, a forthcoming event on April 27, 2023, which will be a game-changing moment for the Indian semiconductor industry. The event is organized by the Digital India RISC-V (DIR-V) initiative in collaboration with VLSI System Design (VSD). The RISC-V Roadshow will focus on showcasing the potential of RISC-V and VLSI chip design education, with the aim of empowering Indian engineers and driving innovation in the semiconductor sector. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to observe a live demonstration of an advanced semiconductor education platform “vsdsquadron”, which is created to offer practical experience to prospective chip designers.
The event offers more than just a demo, as attendees will have the chance to learn from industry experts about the latest trends and developments in RISC-V technology. The RISC-V Roadshow presents an excellent networking opportunity to connect with peers and gain insights from some of the most prominent minds in the industry. These initiatives like DIR-V and events like the RISC-V Roadshow play a critical role in building a robust semiconductor industry ecosystem, as India strives towards self-reliance in key technology areas. IIT Madras strongly recommends attending this event to those interested in the field to benefit from this unparalleled opportunity to learn, network, and advance their careers.
This workshop will take place on April 27th, 2023, from 9 am to 5 pm, at the ICSR Auditorium at IIT Madras. During this workshop, you will get the chance to experience the chip design and testing flow on the cloud. To fully participate in the hands-on activities, please remember to bring your laptop. You’ll have the chance to work with the educational board and gain firsthand experience in designing and testing chips using cloud-based technology.
In conclusion, we are thrilled to have partnered with IIT Madras to launch vsdsquadron – an exceptional educational board for RISC-V learning and VLSI chip design. With “vsdsquadron”, aspiring chip designers can gain practical experience and skills required to excel in the semiconductor industry. Our collaboration with IIT Madras, the pioneers behind India’s first microprocessor Shakti, has allowed us to create a platform that utilizes open-source design flow and PDKs, setting a new standard in chip design education. We are proud to be a part of India’s journey towards a self-reliant technology sector and invite you to join us on this exciting path of innovation and excellence.
