Magnachip expands the production of its low-voltage MOSFETs with improved power efficiency, reduced heat, and design flexibility. Read more!
Magnachip Semiconductor Corporation has announced the expansion of production for its 7th generation MXT LV MOSFETs, which utilize Magnachip’s Super Short Channel FET (SSCFET) technology. Electronic companies creating battery-powered devices requiring low-voltage MOSFETs with minimal heat generation and better power efficiency can also benefit from this product.
The MXT LV MOSFETs are built with a 100μm-thin wafer-level chip scale package (WLCSP), offering improved design flexibility. They are suitable for a variety of mobile devices, including smartphones, smartwatches, wireless earphones, and next-generation ring-shaped device
As mobile devices evolve, the demand for compact Low Voltage (LV) MOSFETs with low RSS(on) continues to rise. Magnachip’s MXT LV MOSFET family delivers extremely low RSS(on), which is made possible by SSCFET technology. This innovation shortens the channel between the source and drain during on-state operation, improving battery efficiency, extending battery life, and reducing overheating.
Due to their high quality and reliable supply, Magnachip’s MXT LV MOSFET (MDWC0151ERH) is used in a premium smartphone from a leading global manufacturer. Production of MXT LV MOSFETs grew by approximately 120% in the first three quarters of 2024 compared to the same period last year.
“Magnachip has established a strong collaborative relationship with a major global smartphone manufacturer,” said YJ Kim, CEO of Magnachip. “Through continued technological development and innovation, we will strengthen our MXT LV MOSFET product family and target not only the mobile device market but also a variety of battery-powered devices, such as e-bikes, scooters, e-cigarettes and drones.”
