The compact Wi-Fi HaLow SDIO module boasts high power and unmatched data rates, making it specifically designed for industrial uses.
Silex Technology has launched SX-SDMAH, an industrial-grade Wi-Fi Highly Efficient, Long Range (HaLow) Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) module which offers high transmission power and maximises long-range, high data throughput capabilities. The company claims that the module is designed for industrial applications. With the incorporation of Morse Micro’s MM6108 chipset, this module taps into the full potential of Wi-Fi HaLow, boasting extended range and elevated data transfer rates, supporting up to 8 MHz in designated countries. Integrating the SX-SDMAH into the company’s Wi-Fi HaLow lineup grants customers amplified versatility in embedded system architecture and ensures seamless compatibility between Wi-Fi HaLow gadgets.
The module adds flexibility to embedded system design, ensuring Wi-Fi HaLow device interoperability and enabling approved countries to utilise up to 8 MHz bandwidth. It is a compact sub-GHz 802.11ah Wi-Fi HaLow radio module that offers high-transmission power and supports a Secure Digital Input/Output (SDIO) 2.0 host interface for the Linux operating system. The press release says that the module comes equipped with a Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) host interface suitable for Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and can operate in industrial temperatures ranging from -40C to 85C. Its compact design, measuring 17mm x 18mm x 2.65mm, is augmented with an integrated Miniature High Frequency 1 (MHF-1) antenna connector.
