Google’s special division that focuses on designing amazing pieces of electronics and technology has just broken through a new boundary.
Project Soli has taken RADAR and placed it into such a tiny chip that they can make it work inside of a smartwatch. Google is working with LG to make it work on a watch, and they are working with JBL to make it work on a speaker.
It is still in the prototype stage, but the video shows how the RADAR “picks” up your hand and uses it to see how close it gets to the watch. Depending on how close you are, the information shown on the display keeps changing. Once it is close enough, you can use your hand and the RADAR to make gestures that help you control the phone.
