When we speak about the Internet of Things (IoT), cost naturally becomes a concern during the pre-deployment phase. To take care of cost-related issues, cost-effective IoT-backed solutions should be developed from scratch. With this being the criteria, we spoke to Srewoshi Sinha, co-founder and director of marketing at Bangalore-based Frugal Labs Technology Solutions.
Q. What is your organisation’s USP with respect to IoT?
A. The USPs are:
- Understanding and providing solution on End To End IoT Technologies
- Cost Effective Solutions (be it training, prototype or Industry solutions).
Q. What are the key technologies that you are working on?
A. Wireless Sensor Networks, Cloud Computing, Communication Protocols, Embedded Systems, and Data Analysis.
Q. Any particular elements that you are already known or famous for (even within your community or sector)?
A. These are:
- FLIP (Frugal Labs IoT Platform – The complete Opensource IoT Platform)
- Knowledge Resource on IoT for Academia/Corporate/Industry ( Beginners & advance training modules).
Q. What niche do you intend to be a leader in?
A. IoT Technology Provider (Knowledge enhancement/Product design/Solutions).
Q. What are the major features or projects that your team is currently involved in?
A. OEM Solutions on IoT, Advanced Features on FLIP, We are also a part of SIG-IoT (NASSCOM) for designing and implementing IoT curriculum in Academia Pan India.
However, Prototypes/Solutions we are working on can not be disclosed due to confidential issues.
Q. Who all have you partnered with respect to technologies and components, and why?
A. No such Partnerships yet. So far we are working on open source Hardware and Software. But definitely looking for partnerships ahead with mostly Embedded Chip Manufacturers/Cloud Providers.
Q. Whom do you target as clients?Â
A. Actually everybody interested in IoT. But to be specific:
- Individuals/ IoT Enthusiasts
- Automation Companies/Industries looking to transform business into IoT
- Academia
- Govt Bodies ( State/Central)
- Startups/SMEs
Q. How many engineers do you currently have, and how many do you intend to hire in the next 12 months?
A. Presently we have 5 engineers from Varied fields, and looking to double this number in the next 12 months.
Q. Do you have an training/internship program?
A. Yes, we have training program for individuals/corporate/academia on IoT.
